The MoU was signed last week during a working visit by a delegation from Danang City's People's Committee led by chairman Huynh Duc Tho to the Czech Republic.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Danang chairman highly appreciated the great support of the Czech Republic to Vietnam over the past time and expressed wishes to cooperate with a Czech company in building a high-tech hospital in Danang.

The city would offer the best conditions for the Czech partner to carry out the project," the Danang official stressed.

According to the city’s investment and planning department, they are looking for around USD300 million to build the hospital, which aims to ease overcrowding at the city’s Paediatrics and Obstetrics Hospital.

Petr Mach, Vice chairman of the Future Investment Company, said the firm would transfer technology to Danang as well as equipment, facilities and human resources training.

This would be the first project between Da Nang and Eastern Europe.

During the business trip, Danang chairman Huynh Duc Tho also worked with President of the Czech Eastern JSC, Zdenek Zbytek to discuss cooperation potentials. It is expected that a group of from Czech Eastern JSC will visit Danang this December to seek for investment opportunities.
