Two workers have died after falling from the 10th floor of a construction site in HCM City.

The accident occurred at Saigon Homes project in Binh Tan District on the afternoon of September 11.

The two victims were Ha Van Khoa, 58, in Vinh Phuc Province and Nguyen Thi Quang, 59, in Tra Vinh.

While Khoa and Quang were transporting the construction materials, the scaffold suddenly collapsed, causing them to fall.

Despite being hospitalised immediately, they both died from severe injuries.

The police are investigating the causes of the accident.

The Saigon Homes project has 19 floors, covering a total area of 45,000 square metres.

Some people who live near the site complained that they felt the building work was unsafe.

Nguyen Van Thang, a local resident, said that sometimes some pieces of construction materials fell onto his house’s roof. Two days ago, an iron bar created a hole in his roof after falling on it.
