Italian lifestyle program underway in Hanoi

A series of activities exhibiting Italy’s rich culture are taking place in Hanoi from November 2 to 11.

With the theme “Vivere all’Italiana”, meaning “Living like an Italian”, the event is part of celebrations of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Vietnam and build upon the remarkable success of last year’s Italy-ASEAN Week, organized by the Embassy of Italy in Vietnam in cooperation with the Hanoi People’s Committee and Italian enterprises and sponsors.

It aims at showcasing the best of Italian lifestyle to bring Italy closer than ever to the Vietnamese public.

Highlights include the “Piazza Italia” cultural fair and an Italian Gastronomy Week, with free entry for all.

The “Sentiero diVino - Valpolicella” wine tasting took place on November 2 at Casa Italia, the center for the promotion of Italian cultural and entrepreneurial excellence. Visitors had the chance to taste of some of the best wines of the wine producer Nicolis from Valpolicella, one of the most prestigious wine making areas in Italy.

On November 10 and 11, the prestigious Hanoi Imperial Citadel will be turned into an Italian square specially designed to take the public along an extraordinary path featuring booths for Italian food and wine tasting, with the participation of Italian gastronomical champions in Hanoi, exhibitions of Italian design creations from Italian companies operating in Vietnam and by Vietnamese partners, many diverse musical performances, with Vietnamese diva Hong Nhung and Italian and Vietnamese opera singers, sports activities, where youngsters will be offered a special chance to play football coached by a selected number of trainers from the Juventus F.C. Academy, as well as volleyball, badminton and shuttle kicking, entertainment like karaoke contests, and other games and activities specifically designed for kids.

Italian Ambassador H.E. Cecilia Piccioni will give a lecture at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam on the 45th anniversary of Italy-Vietnam diplomatic relations on November 6, presenting an opportunity to recall the remarkable achievements made in a wide range of areas of cooperation over the years.

Following the success of last year’s first conference on bilateral cooperation in the scientific and technological field, a seminar on scientific cooperation will be held at Casa Italia on ongoing joint research projects and on satellite technology in particular, on November 7. In attendance will be representatives from Politecnico di Torino and the Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

On November 8, Ambassador Piccioni will host an exclusive Gala Dinner at her residence featuring some of the most renowned gastronomical “creations” by celebrated Italian chef Enrico De Martino, offering a special glimpse into the extraordinary diversity of Italian cuisine.
