Deputy director of Bac Giang Province’s Police Department Duong Ngoc Sau said that reporter Dao Thi Thanh Binh, 41, from Thuong Hieu and Phap Luat (Trademark & Laws) Newspaper has been accused of blackmailing wholly Chinese-invested Lexshare - ICT Vietnam Ltd. Co. USD70,000.

Binh knew about internal problems affecting the business. She was caught red-handed receiving USD70,000 money from the company’s representative in Hanoi on December 18.

The case was published in Thuong Hieu & Phap Luat Newspaper. According to the newspaper, Binh was earlier assigned to work with the company and Bac Giang Province’s industrial park management to write about issues related to workers’ housing there.

The police are continuing to investigate the case.
