Gifts presented to bring a warm Tet to poor and disadvantaged people

Assorted activities are being held across the country to bring a warm and happy Tet (lunar New Year) to poor and disadvantage people ahead of the traditional festival.



Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh presented 100 gifts worth VND1.3 million to children living in especially difficult circumstances in Tien Giang province.


On January 21, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh visited and presented 100 Tet gifts, worth VND1.2 million each, to poor households and victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, and 100 gifts worth VND1.3 million to children living in especially difficult circumstances in Tien Giang province.


Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh also called for and mobilised organizations and businesses to support six houses of gratitude in Tien Giang province, worth VND 50 million each, and 300 Tet gifts for poor households, worth VND 300,000 each, with a total cost of VND 420 million.

On the same day, a delegation led by Politburo member, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation, Truong Thi Mai, also presented 50 gifts to poor workers in Dong Nai

On the occasion, local labour unions have been organising cultural activities for workers at processing and industrial zones who are unable to return home for Tet.
