Quang Ninh to build Ha Long-Bai Tu Long coastal road
Quang Ninh provincial authorities are planning a VND1.3trn (USD56m) project to build a coastal road connecting Ha Long and Bai Tu Long bays.
Cao Tuong Huy, vice chairman of Quang Ninh People's Committee, already surveyed the site. He said the new road would help ease traffic on Highway 18 and help strengthen links between the province’s biggest cities. More ports and residential areas are expected to be built along the road.
In March, the investor must work with the authorities in Ha Long and Cam Pha cities to complete the design and detailed planning. Ground clearance and compensation must be completed in the second quarter. They must quickly find suitable contractors and other preparation to start the construction this July.
This is one of three key projects that Quang Ninh authorities will start in 2019. Other projects are Cua Luc tunnel and Van Don-Mong Cai highway.
