The Higher Education Development Policy Program in Vietnam, worth of US $50 million, was ratified on December 1 by the World Bank (WB).

The Higher Education Development Policy program is expected to help the tertiary education system meet the requirements for high-quality tertiary education and contribute to pushing up private higher education.

This credit was sponsored through the International Development Association, an agency under the WB, to support programs in underdeveloped countries.

Its aim is to establish programs for improving management, suitable financial use, teaching and research quality as well as enhancing the transparency of financial management in Vietnam’s tertiary education sector.

This program also assists some policies which the Vietnamese Government will propose to increase the effectiveness of its tertiary education system, said Mrs. Victoria Kwakwa, WB Country Director in Vietnam.

The program is expected to help Vietnam’s higher education system meet the requirements for high-quality tertiary education and contribute to pushing up private higher education.
