Thousands join Hanoi International Heritage Marathon
More than 7,000 people will join in the Hanoi International Heritage Marathon on October 20.
To Van Dong, director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports said, "Hanoi International Heritage Marathon or the VPBank Hanoi Marathon has become Hanoi's international marathon where participants will run through well-known destinations such as the West Lake, Temple of Literature and Tran Quoc Pagoda."
The race was also recognised by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races and the International Association of Athletics Federations. Moreover, if the athletes at Hanoi International Heritage Marathon met the required time they can register for the Boston Marathon.
This run was also recognised as one of only two national marathon tournaments in Vietnam and is a part of the official competition system of Vietnam Athletics Federation.
Also on October 16, Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, VPBank and Duc Huong Anh Company, as well as other sponsors, held the Hanoi International Heritage Tour to introduce the route to the participants.
