Vietnam Cinema Department head fired over Chinese map claim

The Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has dismissed the head of the Cinema Department, Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, following the approval of Abominable at local cinemas.
On October 14, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong was asked to review and punish people involved in the evaluating and rating process.
The ministry reprimanded Nguyen Thi Thu Ha and Ly Phuong Dung, director and deputy director of the Vietnam Cinema Department respectively. Two employees, Khuat Duy Tan and Tran Trung Dung were reprimanded. The ministry also reprimanded Nguyen Danh Duong, director of the National Cinema Centre.
Related agencies will work together to improve the employees' abilities and equipment at the Vietnam Cinema Department. The Cinema Law may be revised to tighten the movie rating process and clarify the responsibilities of the studios and distributors.
