He also shared that he introduced the 15th Vietnamese Talent Awards at the Vietnam Global Leaders Forum 2019 held early this year in Paris.

"This year we’ve received entries from many countries, including Canada, Germany and the US," he said. "Many IT products have proved compatible with the latest global trends."

The judges include leading prestigious experts, such as Prof Nguyen Van Hieu, who is chairman of the panel of final judges and Dr Nguyen Long, General Secretary of the Vietnam Informatics Association, who is vice chairman of the panel.

Other judges were experts from various institutes at some ministries of Natural Resources and Environment, Health, Science and Technology.

Hoan also read a letter from the chairwoman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan in which she sent her congratulations to the organisers and all the winning individuals and organisations.

In her letter, the NA chairwoman wrote that “during its 15 years, the Vietnamese Talent Awards have become a highly appreciated national event”.

“Hundreds of scientific works and information technology products honoured by the Vietnamese Talent Awards over the past 15 years have been applied in real life, contributing to the country’s scientific and technological development.”

She also noted that Vietnam is actively embracing dramatic global technological development so attracting and honouring the talents of Vietnamese living inside and outside the country has vital importance.

"I would like to propose that the Vietnamese Talent Awards continue to support the positive outcomes achieved over the past 15 years and encourage a greater scale and scope of content to attract increasingly impressive entrants. This will help widen the attraction of sponsorship for entrants, allowing for greater creativity and more opportunity to further the country’s scientific and technological achievements," she wrote.

Ngan also expressed hope that the winners of the Vietnamese Talent Awards this year, and in previous years, would continue building upon the country’s technological capacity and make greater efforts to develop scientific and technological solutions and inventions to help improve the quality of domestic products and productivity, as well as raising national economic competitiveness.
