21 killed in traffic accidents on second day of Tet

As many as 21 people were killed and 18 others injured in 27 traffic accidents which occurred on January 26 which was the second day of Tet Festival, according to a report from the National Committee on Traffic Safety.

The number of accidents did not increase compared to last Tet but the number of deaths increased by two, the report said.


Most of the accidents occurred on road with 26 cases which killed 20 people and injured 18 others. One person died in a waterway accident.

On the same day, traffic police dealt with 2,341 violators and seized 21 cars, 324 motorbikes, and revoked 336 driving licenses.

Reports sent from 35 provinces showed that 92 cases relating two drunk driving were fined including 19 in Hanoi and 46 in Dak Lak.
