Many localities prepare for end of Codvid-19 outbreak
Khanh Hoa Province and many localities in Vietnam have succeeded in combating coronavirus according to the Ministry of Health.
Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen said, "Khanh Hoa has carried out preventive measures in accordance with the guidelines. We are working with the Khanh Hoa authorities to complete procedures which will be submitted to the Ministry of Health's approval to announce the end of the outbreak."
Thanh Hoa Province also only registered one confirmed case since January 24. If no new cases are found in the next five days, Thanh Hoa authorities will also seek the ministry's approval to announce the end of the outbreak.
According to Tuyen, the control and preventive work at Son Loi Commune, Vinh Phuc Province, has been carried out effectively and there is no new cases detected in the past seven days. Four patients in Vinh Phuc tested negative twice. The three-month-old child that is being treated at the National Children's Hospital has tested negative once.
"Even though the results are good, we still have to keep a close eye on the development to implement measures that are suitable to the situation in each region," he said.
Vietnam hasn't found any new case in the past week. Seven out of 16 confirmed cases have been cured. The authorities have also planned to open schools again.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said depending on the situation, six more patients will also be released soon. Hospitals are re-checking patients that already tested negative twice.
