Temple of Literature protects visitors amid coronavirus

The Temple of Literature in Hanoi has carried out measures to ensure safety for visitors in the context of coronavirus worries. 

Temple of Literature director Le Xuan Kieu said tourist numbers to the site after the Tet Holiday had halved against previous years due to coronavirus, and it was mostly Asian visitors affected. 


Tourists visits have tended to increase again compared early February, but mainly those from Europe and America.

Travellers are provided with hand wash and masks free of charge.  


Sterilisation is usually conducted at the site 


A woman from Hungary said this was the first time she had visited Vietnam and she felt safe in the country despite the coronavirus outbreak as the country had controlled the epidemic quite well. 


Earlier, several major attractions in Hanoi such as Ngoc Son Temple, Temple of Literature, and Imperial Citadel of Thang Long were temporarily closed for two days for sterilisation for coronavirus prevention.
