Temperature check at the airport

HCM City Disease Control Centre has worked with the International Health Quarantine Centre of Ho Chi Minh City to start quarantining work at Tan Son Nhat Airport on February 20 after it was announced that two passengers from the Westerdam cruise ship arrived.

The tourists' temperatures were normal and they didn't show any symptoms. Other passengers on the flights also didn't have any symptoms like coughing or breathing difficulties.

All 63 passengers have filled a questionnaire about their health, were advised about the virus and how to monitor themselves. They were asked to report to the local authorities as soon as possible if any symptoms show within 14 days.

As of February 21, HCM City has had three confirmed cases and all of them have been cured. 32 people were suspected but later have negative tests. 30 people have been quarantined at field hospitals. 55 people were quarantined at localities medical stations and 36 have been released. 2,977 people were asked to self-isolated and 74 people's quarantine time have ended.

The city hasn't detected any new case.

The Westerdam cruise ship was allowed to dock in Cambodia on February 13 after being rejected by five countries over fears that passengers onboard might have Covid-19. Passengers were cleared by the Cambodian Ministry of Health. However, an 83-year-old American woman was later diagnosed with Covid-19 in Malaysia, halting the process of disembarking passengers from the ship. There are fears that passengers from the ship who have left Cambodia may carry the virus.
