All suspects negative for coronavirus in Hanoi

All suspected cases have tested negative for coronavirus in Hanoi according to the local health department.

Deputy Director of Hanoi Health Department, Hoang Duc Hanh, confirmed the information when the test results of the three latest suspects showed that they were not infected by the virus.


"By the evening of February 21, all 77 suspects including three new cases found on February 20 have tested negative for the virus," Hanh said.

According to the official, the suspects included seven people from Chinese Wuhan City, 15 from Vinh Phuc Province which is considered the coronavirus epicentre in Vietnam, and, 42 others from different areas in China.

"At present, the city is still monitoring 419 people who arrived from virus-infected areas," he added.

As of February 22, Vietnam has confirmed 16 coronavirus cases 15 of which have recovered. The country has carried out 1,229 tests which showed 16 positive and 1,213 negative. There are now 27 suspected cases in the country.
