According to Dam, Vietnam has taken drastic measures for virus prevention and control by quarantine work.

Son Loi Commune in the northern province of Vinh Phuc which has the biggest coronavirus outbreak in the country has been isolated for 13 days.

All of 16 people who were tested positive to the virus have been discharged from hospital after their recovery.

The most transparent information about the virus-related information in Vietnam has been made public to help people to take preventive measures effectively.

This is the fight of not only the health sector but also the whole of society. The fight has seen very strong contributions from the military, which has also taken part in drills to respond to possible epidemics in the future.

Vietnam has been warned of high risks for coronavirus infection due to being near to China; but until now, Vietnam has controlled the epidemic well, Dam said.

He, however, emphasised that the disease has remained complicated with more countries being affected, so Vietnam has to be cautious of this and maintained drastic solutions to combat the epidemic.

He advised people not to be worried about the epidemic, but should not ignore preventive ways. It is essential to continue closely quarantine people from coronavirus-hit areas.

Deputy Minister of Health Truong Quoc Cuong said that authorities agreed on reducing taxes on imported materials used for mask production.

Medicine suppliers are instructed to find alternative markets for material imports as China is being ravaged by coronavirus.
