The centre said that the first heatwave has appeared in the northeastern and central region this month, but this kind of weather would occur across northern from April. However, the heat spells would be short.
Hot weather has been forecasted in the northern region next month
Due to the impact of El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO), the average temperature between March and August would be 0.5-1 degree centigrade higher than in previous years.
From now to early April, the northern region would witness several light cold snaps. During the phase, the average temperature of the whole country from now to early April would be 1-2 degrees centigrade higher than annually.
The centre added that the hot weather will intensify in May and June.
Meanwhile, from now to early April, the southern region would experience many hot days, mostly focused on southeastern localities. The same weather will also occur in the Central Highlands region in the period.
The centre forecasted that many localities would face hail storms from now to the end of May this year, particularly mountainous areas.
