The Ministry of Transport has sent an official document to the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam about the decision. According to the ministry, all quarantine areas in Hanoi are full and can't receive more people so airlines are asked to stop carrying returning Vietnamese nationals to Noi Bai Airport.

The new rule will take place from March 26 to 31.

On March 25, the airport received four flights with 577 passengers returning from Russia, Japan and Thailand.

On March 23, the Ministry of Transport also asked the Civil Aviation of Administration of Vietnam to stop transferring Vietnamese nationals return from other countries to Tan Son Nhat Airport in HCM City starting from March 25 as quarantine areas in the country's biggest city are full.

Van Don and Can Tho airports have received many people returning on flights from China and South Korea. The local airlines have stopped operating most of their international flights. Vietnam Airlines have stopped all international flights.
