One more COVID-19 case confirmed, total rises to 325

A 34-year old woman returning from Russia was confirmed the latest COVID-19 case in Viet Nam, raising the country’s patient tally to 325, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-1 9 Prevention and Control.

The woman had contracted and recovered from the virus in Russia before returning to the homeland on May 13 on flight VN0062.

Right upon landing at the Van Don International Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh, she was taken to a centralized quarantine camp in Hai Duong Province.

So far, 32 passengers on the above flight have been confirmed infected with virus, the committee said.

Of the patient tally, 267 patients have been cleared of COVID-19 and the current active cases are being treated at nine central and provincial-level hospitals.

As many as 15,412 people are being quarantined in the nation, including 58 at hospitals, 8,523 at centralized quarantine facilities, and 6,831 at places of residence.

Today marks the 38th without new community infection of COVID-19 in Viet Nam, said the committee.
