Nearly 350 Vietnamese citizens brought home from Australia, New Zealand

344 Vietnamese citizens in Australia and New Zealand landed safely at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport on a repatriation flight organised by authorities of the three countries on June 1 and 2.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the passengers included children under the age of 18, elderly people, persons with illnesses, pregnant women, labourers with expired contracts, and others with expired visas stranded in the two countries due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

After arriving at the airport, all the passengers and the Vietnam Airlines flight's crew members received heath checkups were sent to quarantine for virus prevention.

This is the 16th repatriation flight arranged since April 24, with about 4,684 passengers from foreign countries and territories.

As of 6 am on June 2, Vietnam reported 328 Covid-19 patients and 293 of them have recover, accounting for 89% of the patient tally, reported the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
