The latest patients are two women who returned from Russia on a repatriation flight which landed in Can Tho International Airport on July 9, the ministry said.

One of them is a 36-year old woman from the northern province of Hai Duong and the other is a 31-year old woman from Hanoi.

They were sent to a centralised quarantine area in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu right after landing for virus prevention in accordance with the current regulations.

Their samples were taken on July 10 and the results came positive for SARS-CoV-2. They are being treated at Bac Lieu Provincial General Hospital.

According to the National Committee on Covid-19 Prevention and Control, as of July 12, Vietnam reports 372 Covid-19 infection cases including 232 from abroad who were quarantined immediately after arrival. 350 patients have recovered from the disease, and there have been no deaths.

At present, 11,009 people that had close contact with the patients or came from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, centralisedquarantine areas or at home. The country has gone 87 consecutive days without any community spread of the virus, the committee said.
