According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the passengers mainly included children below 18 years old and students, the elderly, sick individuals, tourists, and migrant workers whose work visas have expired in the UK.

The Vietnamese Embassy in the UK instructed the Vietnamese passengers with necessary procedures for the flight and even sent staff to the airport for the assistance.

During the flight, the passengers had to tightly follow the Covid-19 prevention regulations.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has agreed to allow some 14,000 Vietnamese nationals abroad to return home amid the on-going Covid-19 pandemic in many countries.

He, however, emphasised that the government had not yet allowed the entry of international tourists into Vietnam.
