All passenger flights from and to Danang suspended
All passenger flights on domestic routes to the central city of Danang have been suspended from today, July 28, according to the Ministry of Transport.
The ministry said that amid the Covid-19 outbreak in Danang, it is necessary to cease passenger flights on domestic routes from and to the city. Flights to evacuate tourists in Danang have been increased. At present, tens of thousands of tourists remain in Danang.
Cargo flights will continue to operate normally.
The ministry added that from today, all passenger transportation activities on fixed routes within Danang and from to the city have also been suspended, excluding special cases such as vehicles used for Covid-19-related work and ambulances.
Vehicles from and to other localities are not allowed to park in Danang to pick up passengers.
All train routes which depart and arrive in Danang have also been temporarily stopped. The Hanoi-HCM City is run normally but not permitted to pick up at Danang stations.
The Ministry of Transport has also asked to suspend the operation of boats entering or leaving Danang.
Vietnam has confirmed 15 Covid-19 community transmission cases over recent days, including up to 14 in Danang.
