The conjoined twins in HCM City are in good health following surgery to separate them conducted on July 15.

After birth, they were transferred to the HCM City Children’s Hospital to be monitored.

Twenty days after the operation, they no longer have to use ventilators and do not have a fever. They also co-operated with will doctors at the HCMC Children’s Hospital for physiotherapy treatment.

The two girls can hold their milk bottles by themselves and drink 600-960 ml per day.

Medical staff are arranged to monitor the babies round-the-clock. Sometimes, they play music and cartoons for the girls.

The twins’ bed has been relaxed for the distance of three metres for Covid-19 prevention.

Up to 93 doctors, nurses and medical experts worked for 12 hours to successfully separate the twins.

Truc Nhi and Dieu Nhi shared parts of their ileums and colons and a single anus. The twins also had two separate bladders on two sides of their belly. Two ureters led to the two bladders. Their pelvis was arranged similar to a circle.
