A court in Quang Ninh Province on August 4 has given six men a sentence of total 25 years in jail for illegally bringing Chinese people to Vietnam.

Quang Ninh People's Court started the trial on August 4 to Voong A Sui, born in 1997, Voong A Hay, born in 1999, Ninh Van Xuan, born in 2002, and Ly A Tang, born in 1995.

The men admitted to working with a Chinese man via Wechat app to illegally bring Chinese people from Dongxing, China into Mong Cai City. They crossed the river via a foam raft then used a motorcycle enter the city. Each success was worth CNY4,000 (USD572).

On June 10, the group received four Chinese people and were caught while trying to enter Vietnam. Some people escaped.

The four men then go to the police station after giving themselves up afterwards and were brought to the quarantine centre in Mong Cai.

At the trial, Voong A Sui was given six years of imprisonment, Voong A Hay will be imprisoned for six years, Ly A Tang will be imprisoned for five years, and Ninh Van Xuan will be imprisoned for two years. Two other accomplices, Phun Quy and Phung Van Dung were given four years and two years of imprisonment respectively.
