The new patients include 13 in Danang City and one in Hanoi.

According to the committee's report, Patient 867 is a 63-year old man in the northern province of Hai Duong.

On July 31, he felt tired and started to cough. On August 8, he went to the 108 Military Central Hospital in Hanoi for medical check-ups and then visited his daughter in Thanh Tri District. On August 9, he was admitted to the Thanh Nhan Hospital where he was diagnosed with severe pneumonia. On August 11, he tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 and was sent to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases for treatment.

Patients numbered from 868-880 are all from the hotspot Danang City. They include seven women and six men aged between 26-83 who were patients at Danang hospitals or had close contact with Covid-19 patients.

With these latest infection cases, the number of Covid-19 patients related to Danang City has increased to 419 since July 25, the committee said.

As of Wednesday evening, a total of 402 patients have recovered and the country has reported 17 deaths.

At present, over 134,000 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.
