Many restaurants in Hanoi have installed shields to ensure social distancing.

At a meeting on Covid-19 prevention on Monday, vice-chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy ordered all local restaurants and cafes to conform to social distancing regulations as part of Covid-19 prevention efforts.

According to Quy, from 12 am on August 19, food and beverage places and bars must arrange seats at least one metre from each other.

At a restaurant on Ton Duc Thang Street in Dong Da District, tables are separated by transparent shields so people still can see one another and talk.

Customers at a café on Le Dai Hanh Street maintain a one-metre distance from one another.

Police in Hoan Kiem District’s Hang Ma Ward came to shops and restaurants to remind them of social distancing regulations.
