This first international flight will also be a barometer for the country’s capacity to receive international passengers.

In order to prepare for the flight, the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, Vietnam Airlines, and Noi Bai Airport and other state agencies collaborated.

They aimed to make sure that there are enough quarantine spaces for everyone and all preventive regulations would be followed during the flight to ensure the crew and passengers' safety.

Vietnam Airlines used the Airbus 350 for the Seoul-Hanoi flight. The passengers included Vietnamese nationals, and South Korean experts and investors. All passengers had to meet the requirements such as having SARS-CoV-2 negative certificates three days before the departure and a specific address in Vietnam. They also filled in the medical declaration forms.

After the flight, the passengers will again be tested in Vietnam. If the tests come back positive, they will be transferred to medical facilities. If the tests are negative, they will be transferred to quarantine centres. Another test will be carried out six days after landing in Vietnam. If the results are negative, they will be discharged and home-isolated for 14 days.

The crew on the flight must also be tested and quarantined. The plane will be disinfected.

In the coming time, Vietnam Airlines will reopen more flight routes to China, Laos, and Cambodia as soon as they are approved by the authorities.
