Torrential rain has brought about the serious inundation for many roads in the central region of Vietnam, particularly National Highway 1A which faces kilometres of tailbacks.

According to Ha Tinh Province's Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, on October 18-19, the province faced heavy rain with Ha Tinh City being hardest-hit.

The rain has caused the water level in local rivers, especially Ngan Pho and La rivers, to rise. Meanwhile, some reservoirs at local hydropower plants have discharged water.

Up to 28,000 households in Ha Tinh have been put under water, mostly focusing on the districts of Cam Xuyen, Thach Ha, Huong Khe and Loc Ha.
