Two injured in Hanoi after free-falling lift
Two people have been hospitalised after an elevator fell from the fifth floor at an apartment building in Hanoi.
An 87-year-old woman had her leg broken and another woman suffered from traumatic injuries. Both of them have been brought to the hospital. Other people were not injured, however, they were in a panic because of the free fall.
The authorities of Cau Giay District have ordered a review and investigation into all buildings with the old elevator system.
In the past, many people have filed complaints about the deterioration of building B10A Nam Trung Yen and its elevator system. The cause of the free fall is still under investigation. The lift has been sealed for safety.
