It is a special event marking the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association (VYEA) acting as rotating Chair of the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Association in 2020.

Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member cum Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh affirmed that the forum is a testament to a responsive adaptation to the "new normal" state of the world and the region, contributing to the dual role of ASEAN in ensuring community building momentum and responding to the COVID-19 pandemic towards a sustainable recovery.

Hailing the continuous efforts of the business community in general and ASEAN young entrepreneurs in particular to adapt to and be flexible with recent changes, Binh emphasised that digitisation or digital transformation is an irreversible trend that is appearing across all fields, creating new resources for development, changing the human communication and creating equal development opportunities for all countries.

Noting the core role of enterprises and young entrepreneurs in promoting comprehensive recovery and sustainable development, Binh expressed his wish that through the forum, ASEAN young entrepreneurs can understand their important role in the process of building a cohesive ASEAN with harmony between the interests of enterprises and the community.

He also urged ASEAN’s young entrepreneurs to promote cooperation and enhance their dynamism and creativity, while stepping up the application of scientific and technological advances and enhancing cohesion to strengthen the footprint of the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Association in the region.

Dang Hong Anh, VYEA Chairman, said that this year's event is of special significance, demonstrating the creativity of young ASEAN entrepreneurs in realising the vision of a "Cohesive and Responsive" ASEAN.

Participants at the event discussed the business ecosystem and alliances among young ASEAN entrepreneurs as well as the roadmap to a digital future, towards a young ASEAN business community that shares and offers practical initiatives and creates a connection for mutual development in a digital world.

The VYEA also handed over the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Association chairmanship to the association in Brunei at the carnival, as well as launching the official website of the association as a product developed by the VYEA during its term as rotating Chair of the Association in 2020.
