CPV Congress journalists to be Covid-tested

Hundreds of reporters, editors, and technicians who are assigned to work at the 13th National Party Congress were provided with their first Covid-19 test on Monday.

The Press Centre of the 13th National Party Congress will only issue permits to reporters, editors, and technicians who will have negative Covid-19 test results.

The second test will be conducted on January 23.

Meanwhile, reporters, editors, and technicians from other cities and provinces need to contact their local concerned agencies for the test.

Around 474 people from domestic media agencies are expected to work at the 13th National Party Congress. 

Vietnamese authorities have also issued permits for 63 correspondents and editors from 26 foreign press agencies in Vietnam. Besides, 99 journalists from foreign press agencies have also registered for the event.

Foreign reporters have to register with the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Covid-19 tests.

Roughly 4,000 delegates who will participate in the coming 13th National Congress of the Vietnamese Communist Party will experience Covid-19 tests on January 18-23.

On January 10, more than 6,000 police and army men on a security drill in Hanoi for the Communist Party of Vietnam’s 13th Congress that is slated to take place on January 25 to February 2 at the National Convention Centre in Nam Tu Liem District.
