A man in the central province of Ha Tinh has been detained following the discovery of a 250-kg tiger carcass at his house.

On Wedsday evening, police in Ha Tinh Province’s Huong Son District raided Dinh Nhat Nghe’s house in Quang Diem Commune. The tiger was lying on the floor, bound with chains and blood still pouring from its mouth.

The 250-kg tiger carcass is found at Nghe's house on January 20.

At the police station, Nghe, 49, said that he had bought the tiger from Nghe An Province to cook tiger bone glue at his house.

According to local authorities, Nghe is a farmer and his family also raises deer.

Nghe was held in custody accused of illegal storage and slaughtering of endangered animals in line with the Vietnamese Criminal Code’s Article 244.
