Eight imported Covid-19 patients recorded on Friday morning

An Indian man, a Portuguese woman, and six Vietnamese people who recently landed in Vietnam from abroad have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, raising the total number of patients in the country to 2,824, the Ministry of Health reported on Friday morning.

According to the ministry's report, the six Vietnamese patients include two men and four women aged between 30-69. They recently returned from Japan, Ukraine, and the UAE Ho Chi Minh City and Nam Dinh Province. All of them were sent to local quarantine areas upon arrival and are now being treated at hospitals in Hanoi and HCM City.

The Indian man, 34, and the Portuguese woman, 31, recently landed in HCM City and have been sent to local quarantine areas upon arrival. They are now being treated at the Cu Chi Field Hospital for Covid-19 patients.

With these new infection cases, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 2,824.

As of 6 pm on April 22, a total of 2,490 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.

At present, over 39,000 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.
