The move was made amid the country’s surge in ventilator and oxygen demand due to the rise in Covid-19 patients.

The oxygen regulating group led by Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan specialises in updating the information about the oxygen use at medical facilities as well as the oxygen supply capacity of producers nationwide.

The task force has been assigned to co-operate with central hospitals and local departments of health to distribute the oxygen supply for Covid-19 treatment effectively. It also serves as a bridge to link medical facilities with oxygen producers.

Meanwhile, the ventilator task force, which is led by Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son, is responsible for checking the number and type of ventilators at medical establishments across the country. The task force should also study the ventilator demand of health facilities for the useful balance in Covid-19 treatment.
