Haiphong approves Cat Bi cargo terminal construction
Authorities of Haiphong City have approved the construction of the VND390 billion (USD16.95 million) Cat Bi International Airport Cargo Terminal.
Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) will invest in the site that would cover 64,150 square metres and have a yearly capacity of 100,000 tonnes of cargo.

The project includes a two-floor cargo terminal, technical and support facilities, parking areas and green space.
The work is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022.
Haiphong authorities have been asked to support ACV to complete investment procedures as well as supervise the project implementation.
Cat Bi International Airport is located in Hai An District, about eight kilometres to the southeast of central Haiphong.
The city administration wants to build an airport in Tien Lang District to help ease overloading at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport.
