HCM City to face serious flood tides

HCM City has been forecasted to experience severe inundation due to high tides.

According to the Hydrometeorological Observatory of the Southern Region, HCM City would see high flood tides between December 3-5 with the peak to occur at 2-4 am and 5-7 pm every day.

The water level at the lower basin of Saigon and Dong Nai rivers has been on the rise.

This late afternoon, the high tidal would put some streets in HCM City under water such as National Highway 50 and Pham Hung Road in Binh Chanh District and Le Van Luong and Huynh Tan Phat streets in Nha Be District.

The flood tides would peak until December 5. The water level at Phu An Station on Saigon River and Nha Be Station on Dong Dien Canal would be 1.68-1.73 metres high.

People have been advised to restrict their travel on roads that face the risk of being submerged because of the flood tides.
