Hanoi to build ten more bridges over Red River

Hanoi will build ten more bridges across the Red River by 2030 and a vision until 2050.

This is part of Hanoi’s transport development planning approved by the prime minister by 2030 and a vision until 2050.

In the 2021-2025 period, the city has focused on the second phase of the Vinh Tuy Bridge and the bridges at Thuong Cat, Van Phuc, Hong Ha, and Me So.

Vinh Tuy Bridge’s second phase with a total investment of VND2.5 trillion (USD107.75 million) is slated to be completed in 2023.

The VND9.4-trillion Thuong Cat Bridge’s feasible study is being conducted by the Hanoi Department of Transport.

Meanwhile, Hong Ha and Me So bridges which belong to the Belt Road 4 project have been submitted to the National Assembly for consideration.

Other projects consist of Tu Lien, Tran Hung Dao, Ngoc Hoi, and Phu Xuyen bridges.

Currently, Hanoi has the Long Bien, Chuong Duong, Thanh Tri, Vinh Tuy, Thang Long, Nhat Tan, and Vinh Thinh across the Red River.
