The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has just approved to pilot the implementation of the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) model at the country's two biggest airports of Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai.

According to CAAV, the implementation of A-CDM will help improve data and coordination between concerned agencies to provide clear, accurate and transparent information, which will help reduce delays and provide a better travel experience for travellers.

Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) have co-operated with the two airports, local airlines, and a Dutch consultancy agency to set up the models at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports.

According to ACV, flights at Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai airports have often seen delays during busy periods due to many reasons, including a lack of coordination between concerned agencies.

The implementation of A-CDM is expected to help reduce airport and en route delays and optimise airport operations. A-CDM can also help to improve gate management and reduce congestion at taxiways and apron.

As planned, A-CDM will be piloted at Tan Son Nhat Airport between March 27 to April 27, 2023 and Noi Bai Airport between March 26 to April 30.
