The 5th national conference and showcase on information security (Security World 2010) will be held March 23-24 in Hanoi.

“Building a practical and effective information security strategy to deal with emerging economic challenges” will be the main topic during the Security World 2010.

As part of the programme, cost effective and high efficient security solutions will be discussed in order to help enterprises optimise their security investments given the recent global economic crisis.

According to the “National information security development strategy up to 2020” approved by the Prime Minister, the government will invest VND765 billion ($41,193) from the state budget into six projects aimed at building institutions and technical infrastructure that will ensure national information security.

The conference will address such important issues as: (1) Overview of Vietnamese network security and its future trend forecasts. (2) Plans on ensuring national digital information safety development. (3) Development target security track & trace system for Public Security Industry. (4) Build up a center of high tech criminal warning and prevention.

The event will also introduce advanced security solutions from companies such as SecureMetric, Symantec, Oracle, BKAV, Misoft, M.Tech and NDS.

The General Department of Logistics & Technology under the Ministry of Public Security, the Vietnam Centre for Emergency Response (VNCERT) under the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the International Data Group (IDG) of Vietnam will jointly organise the event.
