Danang City has asked the investor of Tien Sa eco-tourism resort to halt the project as the constructions are being conducted without licence.

Dao Tan Bang, Chief Office of Da Nang City Communist Party Committee, said the city authorities had met on March 23 to discuss poor-quality and illegal constructions that were threatening the environment, workplace safety and raising public concern. After the meeting, the city standing committee asked the local authorities to tighten management on labour safety and urban constructions.

Regarding the Tien Sa Eco-tourism Resort and Central Coast Hotel and Apartment Building Complex, the authorities must report the cases to the central agencies, propose solutions and punishment for the violators as well as managers who failed to fulfil their responsibilities.

Tien Sa eco-tourism resort

The committee asked the investors of Tien Sa Eco-tourism Resort to halt and dismantle all constructions that don't have required licences. The local authorities were directed to review the legal papers of the resort, especially requirements about national defence and security and the environment.

The urban planning to turn Son Tra Peninsula into a national tourism destination until 2025 with vision to 2050 must be rechecked. The authorities will propose to the prime minister to scrap projects that pose threats to the national security and local environment.

The committee also demanded to carry out more inspections in the construction industry. The committee threatened to revoke licenses and halt violating constructions.

Foundations for 40 villas built illegally

Despite having no permit, Tien Sa Sea Corporation, the investor of Tien Sa eco-tourism resort, still built the foundations for 40 villas. The resort's infrastructure planning was approved but it hasn't been given permit as Tien Sa Corporation failed to submit its environmental impact report.

Le Quang Nam, director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, said the plots of land were used for national defence purposes but it had been converted for commercial use.
