Restaurants are selling tickets for people who want to see fireworks display on the New Year Eve from their top floor.

The tickets range from VND800,000 (USD37) and VND1.5 million (USD68).

Hoan Kiem Lake is among nine places to have the high-range display on the New Year Eve

This year, Hanoi will hold fireworks shows at 30 different locations across the city on the New Year Eve. Hoan Kiem Lake is among nine places to have the high-range display along with Ngoc Khanh Lake, Hoang Cau Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Lac Long Quan flower garden, Van Quan Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Harmony Lake and Son Tay Citadel.

On this occasion, many restaurants around Hoan Kiem Lake will charge people to see the fireworks display from their top floor.

Some restaurants have sold out their outdoor tickets. A staff member from Avalon Café Lounge in Cau Go Street said that the shop now has only indoor seats which are VND988,000, excluding VAT. Tickets for children and adults have the same prices.

Skyline Restaurant on Gia Ngu Street charges customers VND800-900,000 for indoor seats and VND1.2 million for outdoor seats, excluding VAT but including soft drink and food.

iFeel Restaurant are selling VIP tickets worth VND1.5 million each. But, it offers a discount of 50% or free entry for children depending on their ages.

Other coffee shops on Hanoi’s pedestrian streets won’t charge for watching the fireworks, but they are advising people to come early to get a seat.
