Vietnam facilitates US enterprises to invest in agriculture

Minister-Chairman of the Government Office, Mai Tien Dung, hosted a reception for a business delegation from the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), led by Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director Michael Michalak, in Hanoi on July 11.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Mai Tien Dung emphasised PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s determination to build a disciplined, transparent, action-minded, creative and efficient government in service of the public and businesses.


Currently, Vietnam is actively working to improve its business environment, as well as completing institutions, and enhancing administrative reform and competitiveness to become an attractive destination for the foreign and domestic business community, including those from the US, he noted.

Minister Mai Tien Dung also stressed that the Vietnamese Government encourages enterprises to invest in high-tech agriculture and coordinate with other partners and local people to enhance the consumption of agricultural products. US investors are always welcome to invest in agriculture in Vietnam, he added.

For his part, USABC Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director, Michael Michalak, said that US enterprises always consider Vietnam as an attractive destination.

Representatives of the U.S. businesses expressed their hope to invest and expand their operation in Vietnam in the fields of the production and distribution of animal feed, food processing, and the production of veterinary drugs and pesticides.
