A VND2.83 trillion (USD127.27 million) wind power project in the southern province of Tra Vinh has had its investment license revoked due to sluggish implementation.

The wind power project has a design capacity of 48.3MW is located at Dong Hai Commune, Duyen Hai District. 

The investors are jointly invested by Asia Renewable Energy JS Company and South Korea’s Uniso Group.

The project was granted with the investment licence in June last year. However, until now, the investors have almost done nothing to speed up the project.

Earlier, provincial authorities approved an investment of close to VND3.37 trillion (USD144.3 million) for another wind power plant at Hiep Thanh Commune, Duyen Hai District.

In a plan to develop the green energy by 2020, Tra Vinh mapped out the building of six projects in six coastal areas in Duyen Hai district and town.

By 2020, the province expects to have an accumulated wind power capacity of 270 MW for a total productivity of 634 million kWh.
