The ten trains for the Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line will cost around USD128m.

The Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board (MRB) has just conducted a survey on around 1,000 people in Hanoi about the trains which will run from Nhon Town in Nam Tu Liem District to Hanoi train Station in Dong Da District.

The ten trains for the Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line will cost around USD128m

Among the interviewees who mostly live and work near eight stations of the route, around 80% responded positively, while 90% said that they are willing to use the service.

Nguyen Cao Minh, head of the MRB said that the trains will be produced by France’s Alstom Company. The trains were also designed to be suitable for children and disabled people.

Each train can transport 950 passengers.

The first train is expected to be brought into Vietnam by mid-2020 and the remainder is scheduled to arrive in the country by late 2022.

The trains feature cyan, pink and grey symbolising rice seeding leaves and dragon fruits which are some of the country’s main products. Hanoi authorities will officially finalise the train designs.

Nhon-Hanoi Station would run through the districts of Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Ba Dinh, Dong Da and Hoan Kiem.

The line was initially intended to run in September 2017. However, this was delayed until 2021.
