Newly-established Bamboo Airways has announced a delay to its first flight to the end of this year instead of this month as scheduled earlier

According to the firm's representative, despite the flight schedule change, Bamboo Airways would continue to meet its business plan.

Bamboo Airways' first flight to be delayed by the end-year

The airline is still finishing paperwork for its air transport business licenses. This is an important legal basis for the company to enter the aviation market after it was officially approved in July.

The representative added that the carrier’s first flight slated today, October 10, has been postponed to the year-end.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam confirmed that a flight permit has not yet been granted for the airline.

Bamboo Airlines will become Vietnam’s fifth airline when it becomes operational and will join national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines; budget operator Jetstar Pacific Airlines, which is partly owned by Vietnam Airlines; budget carrier Vietjet Aviation and Vietnam Air Services Co.

Bamboo Airways headquartered at Phu Cat Airport in Binh Dinh Province will be Vietnam’s first hybrid carrier, combining traditional and low-cost models. The ticket prices will be higher than Vietjet Air's prices but passengers would be provided with what they described as ‘five-star’ services.
