According to the airline’s report, last year, the firm earned an accumulated record revenue of VND100 trillion (USD4.34 billion). 

Vietnam Airlines have reported a pre-tax profit of VND2.8 trillion (USD122.73 million) in 2018

Vietnam Airlines conducted 142,000 flights carrying 22 million passengers and nearly 350,000 tonnes of cargo last year. The on-time performance rate of flights reached around 99%.

The national carrier also bought five more aeroplanes last year.

Vietnam Airlines General Director Duong Tri Thanh said that last year was the first time the carrier’s profit exceed VND2 trillion.

This year, the firm will focus on completing procedures for equitisation and raising its charter capital. It will plan its initial public offering on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange.
