Trung Luong-My Thuan Highway Project given additional VND2trn
The government has decided to pour VND2trn (USD86m) to complete the Trung Luong-My Thuan Highway project.
The said Trung Luong-My Thuan Highway was one of the most important projects in the Mekong Delta which was started 10 years ago but progress has been very slow. Tien Giang provincial authorities have approved adjusting the project's schedule and contract terms about contractor responsibilities.
"The investors will contribute VND3trn (USD129m) and the rest will come from credit facilities. The governor of the State Bank of Vietnam has asked banks to support VND6trn to this project," he said.
It is expected the highway will be opened to traffic in 2020.
Regarding the My Thuan 2 Bridge Project, the National Assembly agreed to pour over VND5.1trn (USD219m) into the project. The road that leads to the bridge will be built in late 2019 and the construction of the bridge will be started in 2020.
Meanwhile, the construction bid for My Thuan-Can Tho Project hasn't started yet because the additional investment of VND932bn (USD40m) hasn't been disbursed. The additional investment will be used in ground clearance work.
