Hoang Kim Land director accused of scamming customers
Police in HCM City have arrested 49-year-old Tran Thi Hong Hanh, director of Hoang Kim Land Real Estate Investment Consulting Company.
Hoang Kim Land Company has many advertisements to promote their projects in HCM City. Customers were attracted by reasonable prices and prime locations of its ghost projects. After the scams were revealed, hundreds of customers gathered to protest and reported the company to the authorities.
It is discovered that Hanh also signed four house transfer contracts in Binh Hung Hoa B Ward, Binh Tan District, but all four houses mentioned in the contracts were illegally built.
The police are expanding the investigation. Customers that have been tricked by Hoang Kim Land were asked to file a report to the police at the Police Department on Economic, Corruption-related Crimes on Ba Thang Hai Street, Ward 14.
HCM City Police previously arrested the chairman and director of Alibaba real estate company for fraud. They are suspected of swindling VND2.5trn (USD107m) from thousands of people. Over 200 people have been duped into depositing VND300bn in fake property projects by Angel Lina Investment Consultant Corporation.
