Linh Dam bridges expected to ease Hanoi congestion

Two bridges are being completed over Linh Dam Lake in order to ease congestion at Nguyen Huu Tho-Giai Phong intersection and the Linh Dam area.

 

Two bridges are being completed over Linh Dam Lake.

The projects have an investment of over VND340bn (USD14.78 million) and are expected to be completed at the end of 2020. Ground clearance and resettlement cost over VND258bn alone. The bridges are both 13 metres wide. One is 260 metres and the other is 282 metres long.

Hoang Dinh Hieu, CEO of the project said the contractors are speeding up the projects so they could be completed by the Hanoi Liberation Day on October 10.

"About 80 to 100 employees are working on three shifts a day to complete the project two months ahead of schedule," Hieu said.
This is one of Hanoi's key projects to help ease congestion at the Nguyen Huu Tho-Giai Phong intersection and Linh Dam area, close the Ring Road 3 route and deal with congestion in Hanoi in general. Travellers can go straight across Linh Dam Lake instead of going along Nguyen Huu Tho or Linh Duong streets and cause severe congestion during the rush hours.
